VOL.
4, NO. 10: THE
ROADS TO MADNESS EDITION
WELCOME BACK for another round of Rychean related news and other asundries.
Obviously, much is happening with the band being on the road. So, here
we go...
Be sure you don't miss the opportunity to catch the band live!! They sound
fantastic and appear to be having a good time. Stoney is a superb guitarist
and a hell of a nice guy too!! The QR/DT encore of "Real World" or "Won't
Get Fooled Again" is a real kicker regardless of which set you see!! It
is awesome watching Scott and Mike Portnoy double-drumming it.
The two (2) new songs played have been "Open" and "Desert Dance." The
new songs translate well live, so it is a great appetizer for the 7/22/03
scheduled release of TRIBE.
Speaking of which...;the new CD is definitely Chris D. influenced. I am
trying to figure out a fav track or two (2) from off of it, since I had
to wait until after the weekend for a promo copy. I will have more on
it in the next part of this edition; however, suffice it to say, I think
QR fans will be pleased.
BE
sure and order your CWE wear in time for the show in your area.
Attached is a scan of the same for your viewing pleasure. We gave Brandon
one over the weekend and he thought it was really cool.
OK
more to follow. In the meantime, have a safe and Happy Fourth
of July!! I look forward to seeing some of you on "The Roads to Madness."
OK
after several listenings, here is one fans opinion, for
whatever it is worth.
I think that you will be pleasantly surprised with this effort, which
is solid from top to bottom. I think this release is the most solid one
since EMPIRE! Yes, you heard it right, since EMPIRE! I know this will
probably be blasphemous to some QR fans, but it is really an excellent
piece of work. It is truly the "second coming" of EMPIRE.
Here are R.A.R.E. Society kudos to specific tracks:
1) ITS GOTTA BE RELEASED AWARD: Track 8 "Blood" (Nuff
said)
2) THE SOMEONE ELSE! PART 2 AWARD: Track 6 "Rhythm of Hope"
3) THE SON OF EMPIRE AWARD: Track 7 "Tribe"
4) A RETURN TO SACRED GROUND : Track 2 "Losing Myself in You"
Obviously, everyone will be Monday Morning Quarterbacking this release,
but I, for one, believe it is the CD they had to put out. The entire CD
deserves a ONE MORE TIME AROUND AWARD, since its "all I can
ask for now." Thanks guys, you prove that the "Ryche" has
not lost its "Roll." This listener is once again a believer.
Take a big bow, the five (5) of you deserve one.
FROM THE DARKSIDE ,
